yesterday... finally the foulk lynch original text book arrive in college.
went to college at about 8.30am
i was reli reluctant to wake up so early cos it is sooo early.
but uncle will pick me to college.
this help me save some cost and dun need to change bus lo.

stay at the library and study.
read news paper for about 1 hour and almost all the chinese news paper also been flip by me.
then went out of the magazine section and sit down and start study.
dunno what to do.
suddenly notice that my ft sfm notes are very very messy the notes are all mess up with the question.
i think i better recopy the question in a new paper and i aslo revise the topic which had been tought by uncle daniel lo.
erm... 1 hour.. revise 3 question. i think should be not bad gua.. suddenly hope that i got much more time.

10.30am already.
went to the office and noticed that chris was not around. OMG then where should i 'tumpang' my books?
erm.. hehehe... the course tutor room...
erm.. i decided to 'tumpang' my books at mr chong's room.
mr jaya (the publisher) have not come yet.
last time he sent the book to the admin block... i think it would be terrible that he sent the book to admin block again.
so i went to the office to call mr jaya again so that he would sent the book to SBS office.
unfortunately mr jaya did not bring enough copy of 3.5 study manual.
he promised to sent me the book by 2moro (17 feb) [actually the book did arrive to my house by today ;).i'm so happy and thankful cos the big stone on my heart had been dropped]
i ask the coursemate to come and see me to collect the books by 12. and got one coursemate call me by 12.30 and unfortunately the books are in the course tutor's room and the course tutors are out for lunch.
sometimes i think that people ask you to come b4 12pm, i think you should follow people's instruction and if you could not make it... you should inform others and not just follow what you want. everything you want might caused inconvinent to other people.
stay at the library until about 1.00-1.15pm. and suddenly ah pek say wanna sent me home.
and we went to desa to have lunch but unfortunately the shops are not opened.
then he decided to go eat lunch with yeong sang and me.
and the weird thing happened...
yeong sang and ah pek wore the same t-shirt.
erm.. the two guy mesti 'ada jalan' punya.

after my lunch..
my parents finally back from Penang...
as usual every chinese new year i would get a box of chocolate from my granny (cos i like chocolate).

then.. in the afternoon.. went to tuition...

at nite i was playing fire works with my little monster
this was how my day ended yesterday.
i was upset yesterday by some people in my life.
to me, the person is not really a very important person but i'm kinda pissoff by the fuller.
notice that when you are erogant... you are very unwelcomed.
notice your attitude towards others is very very important.

today i decided to work harder.
today i decided to keep on working...
to me.. it seems to be the most wonderful thing that had happened to me.
to me... i really wonder what will be coming soon
the results will be out next monday.
a bit excited.
erm.. wonder whether i would pass the exam.

wonder...
i think i'm really really happy now.
enjoy this week and make myself to work harder gua...;)
just now i called my friend and her sister answer the phone.
i knew that was her sister and i kept calling jean yee,
and ann yee kept saying 'yes speaking'
erm.. i think it must have been very 'gan ga' and very 'pai seh' for her =P
i believe that there is always things that go beyond your expectation.
i think there is always things that are not done according to what you want.
but what can you do with it?
just admit the fact that you cannot do anything with it?
or fight for what you want?
i'm wondering about this.
it is seems that my nightmare will be over soon
it has been bugging me for more than 7 weeks d.
being bug by all those people every day is really a nightmare and sometimes i really hope that i would loose my temper and quit my responsibility.

sometimes i think it would be difficult to be a nice person.
sometimes i think it would be bad if i'm not a nice person =P

My weird personality ;)

Which of Jay's personalities do you hold?

Toxic Thinking!!!!

I remember my dad teaching me the power of language at a very young age. Not only did my dad understand that specific words affect our mental pictures, but he understood words are a powerful programming factor in lifelong success.

One particularly interesting event occurred when I was eight. As a kid, I was always climbing trees, poles, and literally hanging around upside down from the rafters of our lake house. So, it came to no surprise for my dad to find me at the top of a 30-foot tree swinging back and forth. My little eight-year-old brain didn't realize the tree could break or I could get hurt. I just thought it was fun to be up so high.

My older cousin, Tammy, was also in the same tree. She was hanging on the first big limb, about ten feet below me. Tammy's mother also noticed us at the exact same time my dad did. About that time a huge gust of wind came over the tree. I could hear the leaves start to rattle and the tree begin to sway. I remember my dad's voice over the wind yell, "Bart, Hold on tightly." So I did. The next thing I know, I heard Tammy screaming at the top of her lungs, laying flat on the ground. She had fallen out of the tree.

I scampered down the tree to safety. My dad later told me why she fell and I did not. Apparently, Tammy's mother was not as an astute student of language as my father. When Tammy's mother felt the gust of wind, she yelled out, "Tammy, don't fall!" And Tammy did... fall.

My dad then explained to me that the mind has a very difficult time processing a negative image. In fact, people who rely on internal pictures cannot see a negative at all. In order for Tammy to process the command of not falling, her nine-year- old brain had to first imagine falling, then try to tell the brain not to do what it just imagined. Whereas, my eight-year-old brain instantly had an internal image of me hanging on tightly.

This is why people who try to stop smoking struggle with the ct of stopping smoking. They are running pictures all day of themselves smoking. Smokers are rarely taught to see themselves breathing fresh air and feeling great. The language itself becomes one barrier to success.

This concept is especially useful when you are attempting to break a habit or set a goal. You can't visualize not doing something. The only way to properly visualize not doing something is to actually find a word for what you want to do and visualize that. For example, when I was thirteen years old, I played for my junior high school football team. I tried so hard to be good, but I just couldn't get it together at that age. I remember hearing the words run through my head as I was running out for a pass, "Don't drop it!" Naturally, I dropped the ball.

My coaches were not skilled enough to teach us proper "self-talk." They just thought some kids could catch and others couldn't. I'll never make it pro, but

I'm now a pretty good Sunday afternoon football player, because all my internal dialogue is positive and encourages me to win. I wish my dad had coached me playing football instead of just climbing trees. I might have had a longer football career.

Here is a very easy demonstration to teach your kids and your friends the power of a toxic vocabulary. Ask them to hold a pen or pencil. Hand it to them. Now, follow my instructions carefully. Say to them, "Okay, try to drop the pencil." Observe what they do.

Most people release their hands and watch the pencil hit the floor. You respond, "You weren't paying attention. I said TRY to drop the pencil. Now please do it again." Most people then pick up the pencil and pretend to be in excruciating pain while their hand tries but fails to drop the pencil.

The point is made.

If you tell your brain you will "give it a try," you are actually telling your brain to fail. I have a "no try" rule in my house and with everyone I interact with. Either people will do it or they won't. Either they will be at the party or they won't. I'm brutal when people attempt to lie to me by using the word try. Do they think I don't know they are really telegraphing to the world they have no intention of doing it but they want me to give them brownie points for pretended effort? You will never hear the words "I'll try" come out of my mouth unless I'm teaching this concept in a seminar.

If you "try" and do something, your unconscious mind has permission not to succeed. If I truly can't make a decision I will tell the truth. "Sorry John. I'm not sure if I will be at your party or not. I've got an outstanding commitment. If that falls through, I will be here. Otherwise, I will not. Thanks for the invite."

People respect honesty. So remove the word "try" from your vocabulary.

My dad also told me that psychologists claim it takes seventeen positive statements to offset one negative statement. I have no idea if it is true, but the logic holds true. It might take up to seventeen compliments to offset the emotional damage of one harsh criticism.

These are concepts that are especially useful when raising children.

Ask yourself how many compliments you give yourself daily versus how many criticisms. Heck, I know you are talking to yourself all day long. We all have internal voices that give us direction.

So, are you giving yourself the 17:1 ratio or are you shortchanging yourself with toxic self-talk like, "I suck. I'm fat. Nobody will like me. I'll try this diet. I'm not good enough. I'm so stupid. I'm broke, etc. etc."

If our parents can set a lifetime of programming with one wrong statement, imagine the kind of programming you are doing on a daily basis with your own internal dialogue. Here is a list of Toxic Vocabulary words.

Notice when you or other people use them.

Ø But

Ø Try

Ø If

Ø Might

Ø Would Have

Ø Should Have

Ø Could Have

Ø Can't

Ø Don't

But: negates any words that are stated before it.

If: presupposes that you may not.

Would have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen.

Should have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen (and implies guilt.)

Could have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen but the person tries to take credit as if it did happen.

Try: Presupposes failure.

Might: It does nothing definite. It leaves options for your listener.

Can't / Don't: These words force the listener to focus on exactly the opposite of what you want. This is a classic mistake that parents and coaches make without knowing the damage of this linguistic error.

Examples:

Toxic phrase: "Don't drop the ball!"

Likely result: Drops the ball

Better language: "Catch the ball!"

Toxic phrase: "You shouldn't watch so much television."

Likely result: Watches more television.

Better language: "I read too much television makes people stupid. You might find yourself turning that TV off and picking up one of those books more often!"

Exercise: Take a moment to write down all the phrases you use on a daily basis or any Toxic self-talk that you have noticed yourself using. Write these phrases down so you will begin to catch yourself as they occur and change them.

Lion Dance

Yesterday went to my 'gu gong' house to celebrate chinese new year.
actually i also do not know why we need to go there. to me it is just annother rich person's house. but, i know that her daughter is very very precious one.. and she is getting married this coming year.

there are great food. and a lot of bear and drink at his house, but we could not really eat them since there is nothing which is quite suitable for us to eat. daddy took a lot of ciku and i really ate a lot of them. i like ciku a lot cos to me it is one of the most delicious food i can find.

there is also lion dance and also fire crackers at his place.
however i think the lion dance was not that magnificent, cos firstly the lion do not look so nice, and personally i feel the lion very face and also the person who control the lion's costume was very very fake. and the lion was not climb trough a ladder to pick the lettuce, but a bunch of people carry them up and pick the lettuce, this makes me feel that the lion dance group is very un pro and just give 'ma ma fu fu' result onli.
to me this lion dance only got one word for me to say is 'chao' which means noisy in english.

Second day of chinese new year

today is the second day of chinese new year and we (my parents and i) went to 3 places which is my nanny house, uncle yap's house and mom's uncle house (rawang uncle)

nanny..
my nanny is grandma's 2nd sister. but they seldom stay in touch with each other.
she had taken care of me for about 3-4 year but it seems that as year pass by, i seems so distance with her already.

today i did something which i would not do last / last last year... erm.. give her a hug. something i learn last year. hug someone you love and you care about. to me she is the person who take cares of me and let me grew up well. she had been living in the same old place for more than 20 years gua..

but she got a very very 'sek' him punya god son. which is my 'uncle' who is about 3 years elder than me... used to like him a lot and a lot since i was a kid. but the previous year when i saw him. it was quiet shocking to me... since that he had doubled his size every since i last saw him lo... like big cow d... :P i think this maybe due to eating too much cow during the time he was studying in london gua.

now, we are too shy to talk with each other but i do see him as a big brother.. which i thinks (maybe only i think nia) he would always care for this little sister.

uncle yap...
daddy was hoping to have lunch at uncle yap's house but eventually aunty yap went out with her daughter already. so... no lunch prepared.

every year go to uncle yap's house, he would prepare vegetarian 'bak kuah' (BBQ meat) for me and also all kinds of food which i like so much.

sometimes i wonder why my house so not have this kind of things? but dun have never mind.. just go to other people's house and eat. this is the sprit of chinese new year. you do not have money to have lunch or dinner.. just go to your friends / relatives' house and bring a few mandrin orange and you would eat your lunch/dinner and also ang pao at last get back your mandrin orange when you left... :P

din stay at uncle yap' house for long and we set off for the rawang uncle's house.

rawang uncle...
i call him 'kao gong'. he is a very very cute old man.. where all his teeth already drop and he could still eat without teeth. he was also previously a policeman.

every year we go and visit him, he would prepare very very nice vegetarian meal for us. this year the special dish is the maggie goreng. it was very very nice even better than those cooked by the mamak one....

this year, there was a lot of ang pao to collect at rawang uncle's place since all of his kids had grown up and married...

stay there until 2.30 and we are on our back to our home sweet home.
daddy said that we are luckly that we went early since rawang was jamed.
when i reached home, i decided to sleep...
and this was my enjoyable and full second day of chinese new year.
this year chinese new year trend...
this year i decided to buy new year clothes based on the concept of K.I.S.S
which means Keep It Simple Stupid
to me chinese new year is a really really special occasion where everyone is having holiday here in malaysia.
as you knoe that i've bought quite a number of clothing during this chinese new year. and most of it do not have special design and they are just plain t-shirt.
i think chinese new year is fun.
very very fun in the sense that you would be able to meet those people whom you never think have any connection in your life.
especially when we grown up. and you might meet your future best friend during the chinese new year?

my uncle was saying that kennan said i can count how many my cousin. then today he suddenly see so many cousin in his life...
aiks... cousins.. a lot of them are same age as me.. suddenly feel that i'm old already..
but sometimes i think i'm a bit okie when it comes to handling kids...
hahaha...

first day of chinese new year 2005

erm.. today i consider myself waking up quite late.
happy chinese new year 2005, the year of the rooster...aka chicken.
feel happy.

erm.. my third uncle's ang pao got discremination one... hehehe...
the difference is the kids got RM5 and i got RM50...
hehehe.. yeah the difference is one zero lo...
i seems suprise to know that the kids get only so much for their chinese new year.
erm.. sometimes i wonder whether the kids would judge their relatives according to the amound of ang pao money they give ar..
if you ask me which is my favourite uncle.. i could not give a good answer.. to me all the uncle are the same.. and all of them are the loving and caring person. i like the relationship of my uncle and my daddy. sometimes i do really envy they have this kind of relationship since i'm the single child in my family.
but to me single child do have some 'comparative advantage' something like.. people would love you much.. since you are the only one.
i used to like this kind of feeling... being taken care by my dearest grandpa and grandma.. where they would bring me to eat a lot of nice nice food.
sometimes i wonder what my grandpa would think about if he is still alive and he thinks that i choose to be a vegetarian? erm.. i wonder... maybe if he is still around, i would not be a vegetarian gua...

today is the first day of chinese new year and according to the chinese tradition, the first day everyone is suppose to eat only vegetarian food. but to me it makes no difference gua.. since i'm a full time vegetarian all the while.

our chinese new year vegetarian course started with the all time favourite 'lao sheng' which normally is served on the seventh day of chinese new year which is 'yan yat' which means the birthday of man kind. but now there is no seperation of which day only we can have 'lao sheng'. it is a course where the food are coloured and everyone use the chopstick to mix it together. and when we 'lao sheng' we have to 'lao' higher and higher which indicate more and more prosperous in whatever we are doing.

the main course are as follow:-
  1. carry fish head
  2. mix vegetable (which both of them are cooked by my grandma)
  3. mushroom chicken leg
  4. hotdog baked been and
  5. mutton potato

after that the side dish is the 'bak kut teh'. which is a formula by my grandma (mom's mom). it is very very tasty and some which had consume it says that i could help to slim down. i really love the taste and i think no any commercial bak kut teh can fight the taste of my grandma's formula.

my cute cute cousin hactor was ... he was saying like i dun like this uncle. i want mom. then he was upset and he said i dun wan you (that means me) to come near me.
then i walk away and suddenly i think of chocolate... then i took one and give it to him. and ask him to be friend with me.. and he did...
haha... seems that i bribe the kid... mayb gua.. but he was good enough to let me bribe him :P

i think that's all for my report until now...
hehehe;)
