sometimes i wonder why people smoke?
if they do not care about their health and thinks that the joy of smoking is greater than the importance of health. that is their business and there is nothing to do with me.
but do they knoe that, they are enjoying themselves at the expense of other person’s health? are they aware of that?
do they know that there is tonnes and tonnes of pollution being created because of smoking?do they know the air belongs to the public's? please do not pollute it!!!!
do they know that the percentage of people getting lung cancer inhaling 2nd hand smoke is much more greater than those who actually smoke? do they care about people around them? hahaha.. want to wait until their love ones got cancer because of their enjoyment then they would regret, since it would be 10 times more painful to see your love ones suffering than you suffers the sickness yourself.
i'm totally against people who smoke and there is no doubt that there are people who i know are smokers but i would try my very best to ask them to stop smoking. but i would feel that my thinking is very naive. but i would try my best to reduce one smoker as i could.
so.. if you know me.. and if you wanna smoke... please go far far away then only you smoke.
and i would also suggest government to built smoking booth for those smokers. so that they could smoke as much as they like by paying a price to use the booth and also help to keep the air of malaysia clean. this will also enable the government to imposted the non smoking area law in each and everywhere of malaysia. so that people could enjoy cleaner air. and the smoker can inhale all the smoke they created and the balanced would be suck into a machine and being purified. this will help the government to increase their income, which is more effective apart from imposing high sin tax on cigaratte :)

i'm only angry towards people who do not know how to treasure their life and somemore 'endangered' the others...
i'm a bit upset today since i saw this few gals holding cigerates and lighter in the cafeteria of the club house in college.
then later when we walk out of the cafeteria i smell smoke since i'm very very sensitive to smoke.
they cannot say not to breath the air that is polluted by them. that is rude and very very selfish of them to say that.
jus angry.. people do not know treasure their lifes and somemore make others people life difficult also.
if a guy is smoking...i still can accept...
but when a gal is smoking...i also can not accept...maybe im still in the "conservative" thinking...i feel that a girl smoking is very bad...
i also hate those smokers...so what will i do??i just walk away from them... :-P
I hate smokers that smoke in front of me, guys or girls.
Tell them:
If you are such ignorant and unaware that the private cost of smoking is greater than the private benefit, so be it. Continue to smoke and kill yourself.
But please do not impose external cost to other people.

I agree with your idea to build the smoking booth. It will reduce externalities and also earn revenue for government. That will be much more effective than those "tak nak" advertisement. Hey you should write that to "The Star" to give your idea. Increasing cigarette, as usual is an agenda in the budget every year. But that doesn't seem to have much significant effect. More have to be done.
I think we should learn from Sweeden that smoking is prohibited in all public places. It is really unfair for non-smokers to bear the second hand smoke.
haha.. what if you have to pass by a place where people smoke? erm.. i have this habbit of holding my breath or close my nose with my 'hanky' where i pass by places where people smoke. jus to prevent myself to inhale unnecessary second hand smoke.but this cannot solve the problem.
the best way is just to educate them the danger of smoking but i do not think it would stick in their selfish mind.
